Power 104.7 Brings Back 7th Street Live

Updated: Sep 16

More than 1,700 of our Power 104.7 listeners and supporters showed up to celebrate the East Side and the rebirth of our station's signature event 7th Street Live! But even more than that we are proud that we were able to utilize our organization to unite key community organizations like Indigenous Roots, Cypher Side, InnerG Dance Team and Sir Boxing Club.

We transformed a space normally busy with traffic into a free-flowing community festival with activities for all ages and from all walks of life. We were delighted to see children dance to the music, people try double dutch for the first time, and fans root for their favorite break dancers.  We saw strangers sit down to eat and chat with one another, elders lean on their walkers while swaying to the R&B classics, and so many smiles

This intergenerational, multicultural music festival united our community in so many ways and generated income for dozens of local Black and brown business-owners and artists. We did it because, as the new stewards of Power 104.7 formerly known as WEQY, we are invested in the health and well-being of St. Paul’s East Side.

We’re already looking forward to next year! Stay connected with POWER 104.7FM and find out about all of our community events by signing up to be on our mailing list below. Were you there? We’d love your feedback!

So many people asked where they could get one of our t-shirts - now you can have one of your own! Check out the various styles in our online shop. You can also support us by making a donation to our parent organization, Center for Broadcast Journalism

THANK YOU to our 7th Street Live sponsors East Side Funders Group, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, JO Companies, Indigenous Roots and Metro Transit for seeing the value of investing in our community.
