About the Event

Interested in telling the stories of your community? Learn the basics of writing a reporter story with a seasoned professional. You’ll learn best practices for reporting your story, and what is (and is not) “advocacy journalism.” This class will cover writing techniques for both print and radio news.

Instructor Bio: Harry Colbert, Jr. is managing editor of MinnPost (Minnesota). Colbert was previously the editor-in-chief of North News (Minneapolis) and before that, managing editor and reporter with Insight News (Minneapolis/St. Paul). Colbert has served on the boards of the Twin Cities Black Journalists and the Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists. He is the current president of the Twin Cities Black Journalists.
