Power 104.7 Level II Media Lab

Program Details:

 

The Power 104.7 Level II Media Lab is an eight (8) week hybrid learning program. The program starts March 16th - May 15th, 2026 from 2pm - 6pm at the Power 104.7 Studio in downtown St. Paul. This is a paid learning opportunity with stipends of $3,000. 

 

This program is designed for those who have some experience and exposure to journalism, but applicants do not need to be on a “traditional” learning or career track. 

​

Training includes daily reporting assignments, live and live‑to‑tape broadcasts, field reporting, critiques, mentorship, and portfolio reviews. Participants will fully produce live radio broadcasts on CBJ’s FM station, Power 104.7 (online at Power1047.fm). 

​

The goal of the Power 104.7 Level II Media Lab is to offer career readiness for journalism, media production, communications and related fields to create a more diverse, prepared and ethically grounded generation of media professionals serving their communities. This is an inclusive training program, with emphasis on Black journalists and other underserved communities. 

​

By immersing participants in a live, deadline‑driven radio newsroom with structured instruction, mentorship, and critique, the Power 104.7 Level II Media Lab equips reporters with the habits and skills required for sustainable media careers.
