Class Title: Visual Storytelling Basics

Instructor: Ben Hovland

Description: Some of today’s most powerful journalism comes from people capturing historic events as they happen with just their smartphone. Instructor Bio: Ben Hovland (he/him) is a Korean American photographer living on Dakota land in Minneapolis, Minn. Currently, he is a staff photojournalist at MPR News. He has served as a producer at Sahan Journal, a nonprofit digital newsroom dedicated to covering Minnesota’s immigrants and communities of color.
